Harsil

Harsil is situated on the banks of Bhagirathi River at an elevation of 2,620 m above sea level, 25 km from the popular pilgrimage of Gangotri.Harsil is a village and a cantonment area on the banks of the Bhagirathi River, on the way to the Hindu pilgrimage, Gangotri, in Uttarkashi district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand Harsil has become popular in recent years with nature enthusiasts due to its picturesque location. Harsil is relatively untouched and offers panoramic views of the beautiful mountains. The place is completely free from hustle and bustle of noisy cities. It is a very cool and calm destination for tourists. Those who want to spend some moment in solitude; Harshi is the perfect site for them. People can also enjoy trekking here as there are many trekking routes in the area of Harsil. Gangotri

Mukhwas village is the residence of Goddess Gangotri in the months of winters. Because in winter the area of Gangotri receives heavy snow falls. It is the place of worship, pilgrims visit is numbers for worships during winters even when the gate is kept close. Mukhwas Village is one of the popular tourist attractions of Harsil located just 1 km from it. It is the winter home of Goddess Gangotri as Gangotri itself is prone to heavy snowfall making the place pure and beautiful. Dharali

Widely known for its beautiful apple orchards and located on the banks of the River Ganga, Dharali is an excellent hamlet which is located at a distance of 3 Kms from the town. There are several pine trees that bound the village of Dharali. The Shiva Temple is one of the prime places to visit in the village.
