Nainital

The lake district of India, Nainital, is nestled in the foothills of the Kumaon Mountains, in the outer Himalayas. The beautiful pear shaped lake, Naini stretches for two miles in circumference. ('Naina' means eyes and 'Tal' means lake.) This beautiful small town in surrounded by seven hills, popularly known as 'Sapta-Shring' - Ayarpata, Deopata, Handi-Bandi, Naina, Alma, Lariya-Kanta and Sher-Ka-Danda. The majestic mountains and the sparkling waters of the lake add an immense lot to the beauty of the town.

Naina Devi Temple

Naina Devi Temple Is One Of The Religious Places For Hindu Devotees. The Temple Is Devoted To Goddess Naina Devi, Who Is Deemed To Be One Of The 64 Shakipeeths In India Where Parts Of Goddess Satis Body Fell On Earth While God Shiva Carrying Her Body. It Is The Place That Goddess Satis Eyes Fell, And After That Incident The Temple And Goddess Is Called Naina Devi. The Temple Is Said To Have Been Made In 15th Century A.D. Which May Have Ruined In A Landslide. Later In 1883 It Was Re-Established After Destroyed In Landslides In 1880. The name "NAINA" which means eye is derived from a temple to the goddess 'Naini Devi" built on the upper edge of the lake and was destoyed by the landslip of 1880. It was subsequently replaced by the present structure. The word "Naini" means 'Eyes' and 'Tal' means 'Lake'.

Tiffin Top

Tiffin top is a short trek of about 4 kms from Nainital and provides excellent Himalayan view and the same of Nainital town. The road to this spot crawls along the rugged hill side swaying this way and that, and than all in one breadth in hushed silence suddenly unfolds a canvas on which nature has painted this beautiful spot.

Cave Garden

Eco Cave Garden has become a popular place with the tourists visiting #Nainital. Eco Cave Garden is a network of interconnected caves and a musical fountain maintained by the local administration and is located at Mallital or Suktal. Eco Cave Garden is the latest edition to the places to be visited while in Nanital and is easily approachable by road located just near to #Kumaon University campus and the famous Mall Road on #Kaladungi road.

It is a very good place to pass some time in solitude enjoying the beauty of nature.About 5 kms away from Nainital on the way to Kilbury, nestled at a height of about (2300 MT) View Point is the beautiful tourist spot, from here one can have a glimpse of mighty Himalayan ranges, Lush Green Valley view of the Hills and lower forested ridges.

Snow Wiew

Snow View Point is one of the most visited places by tourists for watching majestic Himalayas from Nainital. distance of 3 km from Tallital Bus Stand & 2 km from Nainital Lake.Situated at an altitude of 2,270 m, Snow view point offers excellent views of snowcapped mountains like Nanda Devi, Trishul and Nanda Kot. It also offers great views of Nainital Lake and the town. Snow view point is well connected by road but a ride in aerial ropeway from Mallital is the best way to reach this place. In order to provide a perfect view to visitors, a pair of huge binoculars is installed at this spot. A small temple housing images of Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Hanuman with Durga and Shiva is located on the peak. The Tibetan monastery Gadhan Kunkyop Ling Gompa of the Gelukpa order situated near Snow view point is also a must visit spot. An early morning trek to this place gives some of the best views of the great Himalayan ranges. A special attraction for the kids is an amusement park that has recently opened up here. The stalls at Snow View Point provide tea and some snacks.

Waterfall Nainital

Waterfall :- About 5 kms away from Nainital on the way to Kaladungi just below Sariyatal, (2100 MT) Waterfall is the beautiful tourist spot, waterfall looks refreshing as it splashes milky water through the rocks into a pool of water maing it is a must visit.

Bhutia Market (Tibetan Market)

Its a walking distance from mall road.Its a small market where you can buy woollen seaters, socks, jackets, shoes,candles,etc. have some eateries. Its a good place to hang out in the evening time
